![]() ![]() I know this clock thing is pretty small in terms of everything overall but it is driving me nuts. It was night when I picked my car up, all of the center console buttons worked except the Radio buttons were dark (Radio was on). The shop said the clock keeps the time when a battery charger is connected to the battery. This kit seems really well done compared to the other kits I have used in the past. Update - I got the car back after the T/C and auto door lock buttons were reconnected. The plug is the same size as the head lamp socket or to the relays.I posted a link to the relay wiring harness I used of the web site. There is one plug on the end of the harness that I can't figure out where it goes and I assumed it was an extra. I can wrench all day but my electrical diag skills are lacking. Has the sound system overheated recently Not that I know of. The car also jerks intermittently almost like it’s misfiring. I have not tested if I lose the GPS functions when the battery is removed, however, I consider that only have to connect the antenna and repeat the process. It seemed like a really straight forward design but I am stumped as I am really crappy at vehicle electronics. Hi, the clock keeps resetting and the radio shuts off and can hear clicking behind the unit before it resets and comes back on. seem to haven if i have had the radio on for 2 mins without the engine running or lights. However, if you remove the battery, the time and the functions enabled by the GPS antenna will be lost, so the process would have to be repeated. One possibility is that the car’s battery is dying. The plug on the ends of the wires plug into the relays which have an output that the bulb end plugs into. If your car radio keeps resetting, there could be a few reasons why. The relays have a wiring harness coming out of them that has a 2 grounds as well as a positive battery terminal connection. According to the mechanic, The Rx300 are very current sensitive system and even though The existing battery was 3 years old the cold weather made the current go below the allowed limit. you should see this in the installation manual. The Lexus dealership replaced the car battery. ![]() the battery wire maintains the memory, the ignition is for higher power. The kit has 2 relays that your mount in the engine bay. there are two power wires, one dedicated to battery, one for ignition. Youll probably have to bring it to your dealership and have them take a look. I am an employee of the same dealership group that owns the Toyota store and I know the service manager personally so I think they would most likely do their due diligence in diagnosis before blowing me off. It sounds like your clock keeps resetting by itself randomly. Have you tried unplugging the HID and running the vehicle only during the day and seeing if the clock does not act up?ĭo you know what circuits the HID is tapping into? You said that it is a plug and play unit, where is it it plugged into? Dealer is going to tell you to remove the HID kit and that's what causing it most likely (probably without bothering to test it too thoroughly.) ![]()
